The Château
The Château de Vaucouleurs, a charming 18th-century residence, sits in the heart of Provence, at Puget-sur-Argens. The estate covers two hectares of Mediterranean gardens, where the shade of century-old olive trees and the scent of wisteria make for a calm, welcoming atmosphere. A generous terrace, a wisteria pergola and a pool area with its pool house give you the perfect setting for quiet days or for occasions you won't forget.
Inside, the château unfolds across 430 m² and four floors, striking a happy balance between old-world charm and modern comfort. Its 10 spacious bedrooms, sleeping 18, its 5 bathrooms, its light-filled sitting rooms, its library full of antique books and its conservatory all invite you to spend time together, in surroundings that are both easy and elegant.
From the day it was built to the present, the estate has drawn a remarkable succession of guests: Napoleon Bonaparte, Field Marshal Rommel, General Eisenhower, the future President of the United States, Commander Cousteau, and General Charles de Gaulle, who stayed here on several occasions.

Stepping into the estate
The living spaces
You come in through the hall, where the central staircase climbs three floors beneath the wide arches that run the length of every corridor. On the ground floor, the sitting room and its fireplace, the kitchen, and the music room where the piano and the guitar wait for the end of the evening. Higher up, the old library keeps watch over its original books.
The bedrooms
Ten bedrooms, from the first floor up to the top of the towers. Terracotta tiles underfoot, shutters that filter the daylight, and eighteen beds so that everyone has their own place.
The bathrooms
Five bathrooms, a few steps from the bedrooms they serve. Some older than others.
The gardens
In front of the château, the great terrace opens out between the olive trees and the cypresses. A staircase leads down to the wisteria pergola, which in turn leads to a pond, with the vines for a horizon. To the west, the pool, its pool house, its sun loungers and parasols. Then three stretches of lawn: one for the marquee, one for ceremonies facing the vines, and the olive grove, which looks towards the Rocher de Roquebrune.
